Arabinda Acharya, Research Co-ordinator for CPDS delivered a lecture on 'Human security in Asia - Opportunities and Challenges in a Program organised by the Professor's club of the Fakir Mohan College, an Autonomous government college in the month of Dec-2000. The topic invoked considerable interest particularly in view of the concerns for a transitional phase that Indian social, political and economic system passing through under the influence of globalisation and threats of Nuclear poliferation in the South Asian Region.
