CPDS was a part of an International Conference, "Beyond the Washington Consensus: Governance and the Public Domain in Contrasting Economies: The Cases of India and Canada" jointly organized by the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies, York University, Toronto and Institute for Studies in Industrial Development at Chandigarh, from 12 February 2001 to 14 February 2001. Dr. Amitav Acharya and Arabinda Acharya presented a paper on Human Security in the conference. Mr. U.K. Pati wrote the minutes of the conference which was used for daily media breifings. The Centre has now prepared a document based on the themes discussed in the conference.
